Business-Incubators as a prerequisite for economic development

 -  - Business-Incubators as a prerequisite for economic development

Business-incubators play a crucial role in fostering economic development, especially in regions facing the challenge of youth employability. The NESESER project is based on enhancing cross-border cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina by establishing two incubators in Loznica and the Brčko District.

Representatives of the Institute for Development and Innovation, the Development Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District, and the City of Loznica attended the grand opening of the Business-Incubator at the Youth Center in Loznica on September 9th. Bojan Lučić, coordinator of the Youth Center in Loznica, first addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of the NESESER project, stating that it represents a major step in supporting youth entrepreneurship and enables the exchange of experiences with other countries. Following that, Tanja Glišić, head of the Department for Social Affairs of the City of Loznica, also gave her support to the project. Nenad Jevtović, Director of the Institute for Development and Innovation, and Indira Lević Muharemović, project coordinator, expressed satisfaction with the project’s results so far and emphasized the importance this incubator provides for young people in Loznica and this part of Serbia.
A special focus was placed on enhancing women’s entrepreneurship and providing comprehensive support to women, with the goal of improving their socio-economic status, integrating them into society, and achieving greater economic independence in the community.
Teams of high school students presented business ideas with significant market potential and social benefits, demonstrating innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The business ideas presented focus on technically efficient and environmentally sustainable products and services. The support they will receive through the business-incubator will ensure the gradual development of their projects with expert mentorship and access to key resources.
The newly opened business-incubator in Loznica will provide significant support to young entrepreneurs, offering them workspace, mentorship, and training programs tailored to their needs.
One of the key success factors of business incubators is the dedication of individuals, experts, and teams involved in their establishment, as well as support from all institutional levels, including collaboration with regional innovation centers and science-technology parks.
Business-incubators have the potential to become key drivers of traditional entrepreneurship development. They not only provide support to young entrepreneurs but also contribute to creating a more favorable entrepreneurial environment, thereby strengthening the local economy in the long term.
