The Institute for Development and Innovation is a partner in ClimaPannonia, a four-year Horizon Europe project focused on enhancing climate resilience in the agricultural sector across the Pannonian Biogeographical Area (PBA). The project brings together key stakeholders from Pannonia region’s countries, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Czechia, and Slovakia, to address the increasing challenges posed by climate change.
The main objective of ClimaPannonia is to develop, test, validate, and promote the uptake of systemic solutions that significantly improve the resilience of communities and actors operating within and beyond four key agricultural subsectors: the water-food nexus, agroforestry, organic crop production, and cattle production.
The Institute for Development and Innovation leads the assessment of the socio-economic and environmental benefits of these solutions. Additionally, the Institute coordinate the Roadmap Design process, focusing on the development of a strategic framework for their long-term adoption and integration. Through its involvement, the Institute actively contributes to advancing climate-resilient agriculture and supporting the region’s transition toward sustainable and adaptive agriculture.
