The meeting of the Working Group “Rights for Moms!” was held on February 28, and at the meeting the working version of the Legal Framework proposal for allowances for women’s earnings after childbirth was presented. Nenad Jevtović, director of the Institute for Development and Innovation, presented the proposal of the Legal Framework and moderated the discussion with the participants.
At the working meeting, it was said that it is crucial in the Law on Contributions for Mandatory Social Insurance to specifically standardize the proposed measure for employed women based on indefinite employment contracts, women who independently perform activities – entrepreneurs, as well as women who are the bearers of a family farm.
Members of the Working Group significantly contributed to the discussion on the proposal of the Legal Framework and gave their advice and suggestions for changes or additions. During the month of March, the Institute will prepare the final proposal of the Legal Framework that will be submitted to the Government of the Republic of Serbia, all with the aim of adopting fiscal benefits for mothers’ earnings after maternity leave.
As the main conclusion, it was agreed that the final version of the proposal for allowances for women’s wages after childbirth will be presented at the next working meeting. Both the economic proposal that has already been prepared, as well as the legal framework.
