On Wednesday, March 27th 2019, the Institute for Development and Innovation organizes the conference on the topic of youth migration and the consequences of the current emigration trends on the economy of the Republic of Serbia and thus presented the research conducted on the topic.
The research aimed to quantify the impact of the emigration trend on the economy of Serbia and to establish the foundation for a further, detailed and deeper analysis.
The results of the research were presented by Nenad Jevtovic, the director of the Institute for Development and Innovation, and other speakers at the conference were Tracy Gallagher, the ambassador deputy of the United Kingdom in Serbia, Emil Atanasovski, the program director for the West Balkan of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, Miroslav Miletic, the advisor of the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Mladen Stamenkovic, head of the science and research department of Economy faculty at the University of Belgrade.
During the discussion part of the conference, participants raised the questions that helped navigate the further research and highlighted the importance of the participation of all relevant social factors, to find the best way to respond to challenges on the migrations.
The main focus of the conference was the presentation of the results of the research titled “The cost of youth migration” and was supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD).
