Representatives of the Institute for Development and Innovation, Nenad Jevtović and Siniša Borota, participated in the tenth World Forum of Democracy in Strasbourg, which took place from November 7 to 9, 2022.
The group of participants from the Republic of Serbia was selected from the Annual Seminar, which was realized by the BFPE Foundation for a Responsible Society in partnership with the Association of Political Studies Schools of the Council of Europe. The participants engaged in debates and relevant events of this year’s Forum and dealt with the crisis of democracy in modern society, the role of various social actors in preserving democratic principles, citizens’ trust in democratic institutions, the effectiveness of traditional democratic models and the future of the democratic order.
The World Forum for Democracy was established by the Council of Europe in 2012 with the main goal of providing participants from all over the world with a space for productive dialogue and debate regarding the challenges currently facing democracy at the global level as well as in individual regions and countries.
The forum gathers various social actors, such as decision-makers, representatives of the civil sector, activists, professionals in the field of human rights, as well as a large number of young people who have a unique opportunity to express their views and beliefs regarding current topics. Since its inception, more than 8,000 citizens from more than 100 countries have participated in the Forum.
