RES2FIRE is a three-year project within the IPA ADRION programme, with a budget of €1.2 million, involving 7 partners and promoting cooperation to reduce forest fire risks and increase ecosystem resilience.
The project focuses on developing joint procedures, methodologies, and solutions for reducing forest fire risks and enhancing ecosystem resilience.
Project goals include the development of methodologies for mapping hazards and risks, establishing a network of stakeholders, pilot actions for sustainable forest management, identifying nature-based forestry models to reduce fire risks, a damage assessment model, a WebGIS tool, and an action plan for prevention and adaptation to climate change.
The Institute for Development and Innovation coordinates activities in the Republic of Serbia, contributing to building the network and disseminating results to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the Institute’s main task is preparing a report on the ecological and socio-economic impacts of forest fires.
