The U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia has been a partner and donor of the Institute for Development and Innovation since 2020, and its support is reflected in the financing of projects from the Public Finances program area. Namely, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the projects “Understand the public!” and “Write about the public finance!” were implemented, which sought to improve the knowledge of public finance and economics among journalists and employees in the civil sector in order to contribute to reporting, understanding and monitoring the spending of public funds in the best manner.
Through activities supported by the US Embassy in Belgrade, the Institute for Development and Innovation has built a network of partners among journalists, the media, and the civil sector, who deal with topics related to public finances and the preparation of media content, with economy as the main topic. Also, the active participation of citizens in the decision-making process was promoted and discussion related to public finances was encouraged.
Through partnership and cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the Institute for Development and Innovation published “101 questions of public finance”, with an aim to provide a large number of readers with answers to the most important questions in the field of public finance in the Republic of Serbia.
