The Institute for Development and Innovation was founded in 2018 by researchers in economics with the mission of creating economically independent individuals.
The idea and vision of the Institute for Development and Innovation are to establish a developed and democratic society based on equal opportunities.
The Institute for Development and Innovation develops, advocates, and implements economic policies.
The Institute delivers results through three programmes: 1) The Migration and Youth; 2) The Public finances and economic development; 3) The Green Economy.
The activities carried out by the Institutes are the preparation of economic analyzes and research, education, as well as advocacy of economic policies based on data.
The Migration and Youth Programme
The Migration and Youth Program focuses on the economic effects of migration, primarily of the migration of young people from Serbia and the region. The Migration and Youth Program aims to understand the positive and negative effects of the migrations, as well as to create and implement proposals for migration management policies.
The project that is the initiator of this program is “The Costs of Youth Emigration”, which developed a methodology for the analysis of the costs of youth emigration in Serbia and countries of the region. Based on this unique methodology, the effects of youth migration from Serbia and the neighboring countries were conducted and economic policy proposals were developed.
The Public Finance and Economic Development Programme
The Public Finance and Economic Development Programme focuses on the transparency of public finances in the Republic of Serbia as well as on the structure of budget revenues and expenditures in order to promote the economic development of all parts of the Republic of Serbia.
The project that is the initiator of this program is the project “Understand Public!” funded by the Embassy of the United States. This project developed workshops for representatives of media organizations and NGOs in the field of public finance, public procurement, and journalism.
The Green Economy Programme
The Green Economy Programme focuses on the economic effects of green economy investments, and initiates environmental responsibility among citizens. The objective of the Green Economy Program is to contribute to the sustainable economic development of Serbia and improve the quality of life by investing in green.
The project that is the initiator of this program is the “Upcycling of PE and PET waste – upPE-T” project funded by the European Union through Horizon 2020, which aims to find innovative solutions for recycling waste from PE and PET packaging or their conversion into a series of biodegradable plastics for packaging food and drink.
What makes the Institute for Development and Innovation a relevant partner are the people. On the one hand, the Team of the Institute for Development and Innovation consists of young and ambitious professionals ready for action; while on the other hand, the associates of the Institute for Development and Innovation are experts in fields such as macroeconomics, journalism, marketing, finance, robotics, as well as representatives of the academic community and the economy.
