The BEAMING consortium consisted of 17 partner organizations gathered in Budapest, Hungary between the 26th to the 27th of February 2024, with an aim to establish the work plan across the 48 months of project duration as well as the main tasks, and activities for each work package. The introductory meeting was hosted by Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).

During the interactive sessions, the Institute for Development and Innovation representatives presented their roles in the project and exchanged implementation ideas with partners. First, IRI shared the initial overview of methodology and outline of the plan for conducting assessments of open science practices in EU and widening countries which will be presented in the BEAMING Open Science Case Study Book. Secondly, IRI held a session on aligning project results with the European Research Area (ERA) priorities and improving research assessment practices. The discussions were enriched by the tour of the BME campus and visits to their laboratories.
BEAMING is a four-year Horizon Europe project that aims to advance the bioeconomy sector by enhancing research excellence, innovation, and competitiveness, focusing on Research, Open Science, Knowledge Valorization, and Inclusive Innovation Culture while fostering collaboration between higher education institutions, industry, government, and civil society.
