On October 5, 2022, the Institute for Development and Innovation and the Serbian Association of Employers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. One of the first joint actions of these two organizations will be to improve the position of women after returning from maternity leave.
The proposal put forward by the Institute and UPS is a three-year reduction in pension, disability, health, and unemployment insurance contributions for women returning to work. The measure would also cover unemployed or inactive mothers who get a job until their child reaches the second year of age.
In the first year, the subsidization of mandatory contributions for social security would amount to 65%, in the second 60% and in the third 50%. The proposed reduction in contributions should be at the expense of both the employer and the employee. With today’s signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Serbian Association of Employers and the Institute for Development and Innovation announce the beginning of cooperation on further strengthening the national economy and its competitiveness, improving the investment climate based on knowledge, innovation, and quality jobs, as well as promoting solidarity, equality, a society of equal opportunities and inclusion.
The two organizations are planning to provide strong support for sustainable socio-economic development in accordance with international and EU standards and practices through joint activities, economic research, and recommendations..
The memorandum on cooperation between the Serbian Association of Employers and the Institute for Development and Innovation was signed by SAE’s director Srđan Drobnjaković and IDI’s director Nenad Jevtović.
