Institute for Development and Innovation wants to congratulate all of you on the International Day of Human Rights. This day is celebrated on December 10th, as the commemoration of the day in 1948 when the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The theme of this year’s commemoration is creating a fair society for future generations. One of the ways to do it is through taking care of and improving the environment we live in.
The Human Rights Council of the United Nation through Resolution 48/13 recognizes that a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment is a basic human right.
One of the main challenges the world is facing is a concerning amount of plastic waste that is destroying the planet.
Within the project Upcycling of PE and PET waste – upPE-T, with 19 other organizations we are aiming to find innovative solutions for recycling waste from PE (polyethylene) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging, ie their conversion into a series of biodegradable plastics for the production of food and beverage packaging.
We want to leave a better planet for future generations, with less plastic waste that is destroying all of us.
