This year, a consortium of 22 partners from 8 different countries, including the Institute for Development and Innovation, has launched the DALIA (Danube Region Water Lighthouse Action) project supported by the Horizon Europe program. The main aim of the project is related to supporting the restoration process of Danube and improving the ecosystems alongside of its basin.
The Institute for Development and Innovation attended the DALIA kick-off meeting organized during 21st and 22nd of March in Budapest. The introductory meeting was organized by the project coordinator, the General Directorate for Water Management of Hungary, and brought together 22 partners with a common vision of preserving the Danube river. The meeting was focused on presentations of work packages by leading organizations, presentations of individual project tasks, but there were also discussions about plans regarding upcoming project activities and ways of solving potential challenges.
In the upcoming period, the Institute for Development and Innovation will contribute to the goals of the DALIA project in the field of identification, engagement and coordination of stakeholders supporting the Danube restoration process, as well as activities related to communication and dissemination and knowledge transfer.
