The “Rights for Moms!” Working Group met on 28 February, during which a draft version of the proposed legal framework for tax and social contribution relief on women’s salaries after childbirth was presented. Nenad Jevtović, Director of the Institute for Development and Innovation, presented the proposed legal framework and moderated the discussion with the participants.

During the meeting, participants emphasized that it is essential for the Law on Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions to specifically regulate the proposed measure for women employed under permanent employment contracts, self-employed women (entrepreneurs), and women who are holders of family agricultural holdings.

The members of the Working Group made a significant contribution to the discussion by providing valuable comments, recommendations, and suggestions for amendments and improvements to the proposed legal framework.

During March, the Institute will prepare the final version of the legal framework proposal, which will be submitted to the Government of the Republic of Serbia with the aim of introducing fiscal relief measures on the salaries of mothers returning to work after maternity leave.

As the main conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that the next Working Group meeting will present the final version of both the proposed salary relief measures for women after childbirth and the accompanying legal framework.
