Institute for Development and Innovation organized a working meeting “Rights for Moms!” in Novi Sad, where the analysis of the position of moms in the labor market was presented. The work meeting gathered the representatives of the government, civil sector, and independent institutions, employed, unemployed mothers, as well as entrepreneurs mothers.

Marija Suzić, a researcher at Institute for Development and Innovation, presented an analysis of the position of moms in the labor market. She also spoke about the procedures that moms entrepreneurs go through when they go on maternity leave.

The participants at the working meeting agreed that the position of moms entrepreneurs is unfavorable and that a number of laws need to be changed to improve their position. They significantly contributed to the discussion and identification of the key challenges that moms entrepreneurs face when going on maternity leave.

As the main conclusion, it was agreed that it is necessary to digitalize the procedures, partially or completely, and in that way to make it easier for moms entrepreneurs to go on maternity leave.
