The Institute for Development and Innovation has launched a new project called “Economically Strong!” with the support of the Ministry of Family Care and Demography. The aim of the project is to improve the labor market position of young women aged 18 to 30 from all parts of the Republic of Serbia through a training program for 30 participants to engage in entrepreneurship.

Analyzing the labor market, women’s activity and employment rates are lower than those of men, while the unemployment rate is higher. During the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, Serbia opened the labor market to women, and their participation in the workforce has increased. However, similar to the situation worldwide, women in Serbia are in a less favorable position in the labor market compared to men.

The expected results of the project are that 30 young women will acquire the necessary knowledge in entrepreneurship, graphic design, and marketing, which will provide them with greater opportunities in the labor market to find employment and start their own businesses. It is expected that at least 10 participants will become entrepreneurs by the end of the project. Through the “Economically Strong!” project, the Institute for Development and Innovation supports young women and contributes to improving their socio-economic status. The acquired knowledge will be an incentive for young women in their career development and success.
