The Institute for Development and Innovation organized a working meeting “Mothers have a right too!” at which draft proposals for measures to improve the position of mothers in the labor market were presented. In addition, the first results of the fiscal cost analysis of the proposed measure are presented. At the working meeting were gathered the representatives of the government, civil sector, and independent institutions. 

Marija Suzić, a researcher at the Institute for Development and Innovation, in front of a team of researchers, presented a working version of the Plan of Tax Incentives for Mothers after returning from maternity leave.

She also spoke about the Plan for simplifying procedures for mothers of entrepreneurs when they go on maternity leave.

After that, a discussion about the expectations of key players in terms of analyzing the economic effects of improving the position of mothers in the labor market has begun. 

The participants of the working meeting significantly contributed to the discussion by giving suggestions and criticism of the proposed fiscal measure. 

The plan of tax incentives for mothers will be officially presented to decision-makers and the public at a conference that will be organized in early June 2022.
