In September 2022, the Institute for Development and Innovation marked the fourth anniversary of its establishment. During its first four years of operation, the Institute achieved significant milestones in its mission to develop as an independent economic think tank, providing expert support to decision-makers and other stakeholders in designing economic policies that contribute to a developed, democratic society based on equal opportunities.

Between 2018 and 2022, the Institute implemented or launched a total of 21 projects across its three programme areas. It also produced more than 20 economic analyses and policy recommendations. Throughout this period, the Institute presented its work and policy proposals at numerous national, regional, and international conferences and events. Among its most notable achievements were bringing greater public attention to the economic costs of youth emigration and the labour market position of young people, as well as addressing the challenges of depopulation and raising awareness and understanding of public finance issues that directly affect Serbia’s economic growth and development.

As a result of its work between 2018 and 2022, the Institute established more than 100 partnerships and collaborated with numerous national and international organisations.

In the years ahead, the Institute for Development and Innovation will continue to develop, advocate for, and implement evidence-based economic policies while upholding its core values of innovation, expertise, objectivity, and the practical applicability of the policies and solutions it proposes.
