Reducing reliance on fossil-based materials through building a sustainable bioeconomy is far from an easy task. One of the crucial steps towards formulating and implementing systemic solutions is strengthening effective transdisciplinary collaboration between relevant stakeholders.

Institute for Development and Innovation addresses this through the BEAMING project by enabling institutional reforms, strengthening the skills and capacities of early-career researchers in bioeconomy.

Research, enhancing technology exchange, improving the implementation of Open Science, and aligning the collective efforts with the newest developments related to the ERA Policy Agenda.

Assessing Open Science Practices

Members of the Institute for Development and Innovation have presented the results of the assessments of the implementation of Open Science practices at 12 European higher education institutions and research institutes. This analysis provides BEAMING partners with valuable insights into the specific implementation gaps as well as actionable recommendations for bridging these gaps. Based on this data, targeted higher education institutions and research institutes will build their action plans to boost Open Science practices in the upcoming period.

BEAMING Board Meeting in Banja Luka

The three-day working agenda has gathered 38 participants from 17 partner organizations across 13 countries at the UNIBL Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka to exchange knowledge and experiences and plan future activities, such as building the BEAMING Excellence Alliance, establishing BEAMING Communities of Practice, and aligning project’s results with ERA priorities.

The BEAMING is a four-year Horizon Europe project that aims to boost the capacities of higher education institutions and research institutes through effective collaboration and knowledge exchange.
